Back to Work Make-up

Having worked from home for the last couple of years, it came as a bit of a shock to get a short-term gig in an office. Wardrobe crisis? Yes. Makeup crisis? No, thankfully.

Here are my all time favourite, quick, user-friendly, essential make-up basics and why:

Skin booster

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturser SPF 20, $59, comes in real skin colours, looks natural, and gives the right balance of coverage to blur uneven skintone and small blotches. Takes moments to apply and offers essential SPF too. Win-win.

Estée Lauder Double Wear Zero-Smudge Curling Mascara in Black, $48. Does what it says on the tube, extremely well. It also washes off with a regular facial cleanser so no need for eye makeup remover (who has time for an extra step of this sort?)

Eye brightener

Bobbi Brown Tinted Eye Brightener, $42 I, like a lot of mums have dark circles under my eyes except I had them before my children came along. These days I need natural looking brightening to counteract the darkness and this does the job. Tip – apply it against the bridge of your nose where it meets the inner corner of your eye and blend down. It’s surprising how dark these little corners can be and how much better it looks when brightened. That’s a Bobbi top tip I’ve employed – makes all the difference.
