Darling Harbour will again host Sydney’s most spectacularAustralia Day celebrations with FREE activities throughout the day on Monday 26 January 2015. This year, the festivities will be capped off with two fireworks displays over both Cockle Bay and at a NEW location – Tumbalong Park – at 8.45pm.
FREE family-friendly activities will be staged across the precinct from 12 noon, before the official celebrations kick off with the Twilight Concert and annual Australia Day Spectacular from 6pm – 9.15pm.
Palm Grove will host a Circus Playground for kids with interactive entertainment from 12.00pm – 4.30pm. At the same time, look out for the fun transistor radio at Pier 26, opposite SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium! Catch different styles of dance as performers tune-in to different frequencies that inspire each unique piece.
Between 2pm and 7pm, roving entertainment will move around the precinct entertaining crowds during the day.
The Australia Day barge will glide into Cockle Bay at 6pm to start the Twilight Concert, with The Voice superstar Darren Percival performing on board.
The official NSW Australia Day Ceremony, 7pm – 8:45pm, begins with boat parades and an address from the Governor of NSW to celebrate the year that has passed and consider what lies ahead in 2015.
International superstar Havana Brown, who has performed with Rhianna, Britney Spears, Pitbull and Chris Brown and has the hit single, We Run the Night, will get everyone up and dancing between 8.15-8.45pm on the stage at Darling Quarter. And the dancing won’t stop there as Havana Brown has programmed the all-Australian soundtrack to accompany the Darling Harbour Australia Day Fireworks Spectacular at 8.45pm.
