The celebration of Australia’s cultural diversity continues at Darling Harbour throughout February – May 2016, when the ongoing FREE Darling Harbour Culture Beats program showcases flavours, dance, music and art from around the world!
Festivals celebrating the cultures of Greece and Russia recently featured at Darling Harbour Culture Beats and April-May will see Korea take centre stage as well as festivities for Buddha’s Birthday!
Darling Harbour Culture Beats is presented by cultural groups from around NSW in partnership with Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority, which supports more than 20 community-based cultural organisations annually via the festivals.
Events and activities including cultural festivals attract more than 26 million people to Darling Harbour each year and provide an important contribution to the NSW visitor economy.
BUDDHA’S BIRTHDAY FESTIVAL Tumbalong Park and Palm GroveCelebrate Buddha’s birthday and share a message of peace while enjoying talks, performances, meditation and delicious vegetarian food. The 23rd Buddha’s Birthday and Mother’s Day celebration at Darling Harbour will again be a festival of harmony within families and community. There will be a baby blessing ceremony, Dharma talks, multicultural performances, a kids’ corner, meditation and a vegetarian food fair.
