Sydney Olympic Park’s annual alfresco cinema series, Movies by the Boulevard, will return for its 12th season in 2013 and best of all for families and film-lovers – it is still FREE!

Held at the iconic Cathy Freeman Park (opposite ANZ Stadium) on Olympic Boulevard, the 2013 program of Movies by the Boulevard will feature 12 consecutive nights of FREE flicks under the stars, from 2-13 January.

Designed to delight audiences of all ages, Movies by the Boulevard 2013 will showcase 11 movies from various genres, before culminating with a collection of culturally-diverse short films from the ‘Short Soup International Short Film Festival.’

Movies will commence on the big-screen at 8.30pm on all 12 event nights.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase at Cathy Freeman Park from 6.00pm. Attendees will also have the option of pre-movie dining at many restaurants and cafés across Sydney Olympic Park, and home-packed picnics, cushions, blankets and low-chairs are welcome at Movies by the Boulevard.

Also from 6.00pm on six selected blockbuster family-nights – 2, 5, 9, 10, 11, 12 January – parents will get to kick-back and relax while the kids are kept busy with a fun range of pre-movie activities including face-painting, balloon-bending and arts and crafts, presented by the Starlight Children’s Foundation.

Participants will be asked to make a $2 donation to the Australian charity and Starlight merchandise will also be available for purchase at Movies by the Boulevard 2013. All funds raised at the event will help Starlight brighten the lives of seriously ill children and their families.

Presented by Sydney Olympic Park Authority in partnership with radio 2UE, Movies by the Boulevard 2013 is expected to see tens of thousands of Sydneysiders flock to the FREE event, which is among the most popular on the Sydney Olympic Park summer entertainment calendar.
