For more than 25 years Terrey Hills Swim School they have been teaching children of all abilities & backgrounds to swim. The Swim School now provides top class, professionally developed and instructed swimming and fitness programs in a friendly & fun environment.
Terrey Hills Swim School Programs are structured to provide a challenging learning opportunity for people of all ages to become competent swimmers and athletes. Once the necessary swimming competence is gained, the swimmer can choose to swim for fun and fitness or to proceed to competition.
Terrey Hills Swim School also provides facilities for a range of other water sports, fitness sessions, social events, and relaxation programs.
Also: crèche service; swimming lessons, public swimming, Parent & Child Programs, aquaerobics; aqua fit; yoga and school holiday programs!
Learn to Swim (3 years – 8 years)
We offer children’s learn to swim (LTS) classes on a daily basis at THSS. Children are typically able to start LTS lessons at 36 to 42 months BUT all children must do an assessment before booking, to be sure they are ready.
Outcomes of our Learn to Swim Program include: mastering the basic skills of the four major strokes & water safety.
We have a number of grades of LTS with each grade teaching skills to allow progression to the next grade. Class sizes start at 3 children with an instructor. Class sizes increase as the children gain skills. Children learn by direct instruction and correction and by watching class mates swimming and being instructed and corrected.
This class is run in our shallow, 15m pool, heated to a comfortable 32 degrees. The class is a fast paced, high energy, cardio workout. The class is 45 minutes set to a backing of energetic music. Just try and keep up with the instructor!Current Class TimesTuesday & Thursday 6pm
