When I started this website my son was about 3 months old, he is now 5 and half – so reference frame has now expanded to activities and events for school age kids as well as activities for my 3 yr old (toddler / pre-schooler). This school holidays is the first time my kids will be able to some school holiday activities together. And they are both very excited.
There are so many places providing activities for kids over the school holidays, we do get lots of emails asking whats on in people’s areas, and unless we get contacted by providers of school holiday activities we can only really tell you what’s on in our local area – Sydney’s Northern Beaches, and specifically Manly and surrounding suburbs. But if you are looking for ideas check out your local council’s website – they should provide information about local activities in the school holidays and also information about vacation care. My council provided a booklet that is distributed around community centres which lists lots of places, activities, classes etc… but weirdly it is not available online.
So here are some ideas if you live in and around Sydney’s Northern beaches…..
Super Kids Sports: Super Kids Sports provides a fun and exciting multi-sports camp to entertain your child during the holidays. Both kids love this sports classes. They run on Mon, Weds and Fri through school holidays.
Lollipops Playland French Forest: Every school holiday your child (over 4s) can also be a part of their fully supervised & structured School Holiday Program where your child can swing, slide, jump, climb, and crawl their way through the day plus take part in great activities. This is a fantastic day (8 til 6 or do a half day).
AAGI Gymnastics – Circus, Silk and Gymnastics: AAGI Gymnastics at Brookvale have a holiday program on Tues, Weds and Thurs. My son went during the last school holidays and had a great time.
Manly Library – Manly Library has various activities on during teh school holidays including, School Holiday Activities – Pet Rocks and School Holiday Activity – Make Musical Instruments – check out your local library for more school holiday acitivities.
For other ideas, check out your local council website, your local Mall (our Local mall Warringah Mall has lots of things on over the school holidays), your local library and local church. Lets just hope the weather is good so we can visit all the great playgrounds and maybe a few trips to the beach. And if it is raining well Play Planet, Little Rascals and Wannabeess all have some great activities over the Spring Holiday as well.
