The Dream of the Thylacine brings to life the evocative and final memories of the world’s last known Tasmanian tiger. The latest production by acclaimed theatre company Erth Visual & Physical Inc, is a fascinating, in-depth and educational school holidays highlight this spring.

Presented by Carriageworks and Erth, running 25 September until 5 October at Carriageworks, this dynamic theatre production is based on the award-winning children’s book The Dream of the Thylacine, by Margaret Wild with illustrations by Ron Brooks. The dramatic reimagining of this captivating children’s story uses life-size puppets, multi-media visuals, and archival footage to bring to life the much-loved Tasmanian tiger.

As part of the show, the audience will have the opportunity to explore a fascinating collection of historic ephemera and artworks enhancing the story of this magnificent creature. This comprehensive and educational installation promises an immersive and tactile collection of new and historic artworks and objects. Children will be able to trace the legendary story for themselves, no doubt sparking endless questions as curious young minds come to their own conclusions.
