Hello, I’m Elle and I write blog called Cherry and Me about beautiful things I love, do and see with my 18 month daughter, Cherry.
I thought I’d share a well kept secret, a fantastic place to visit with the little ones and our favourite thing to do when holidaying on the Mornington Peninsular.
Rain Hayne Shine Animal Farm is located in Balnarring, Victoria, only 1 hour’s drive from Melbourne. The very friendly farm is hidden down a dirt track, just off Frankston – Flinders Road.
There’s a small fee at the gate – Children over 3 are $10, adults are $5 and a family ticket is $35. If you’re planning on coming back, don’t forget to ask for a loyalty card, where you 5th visit is free!
The first animals to great us as we walked into the farmyard were the goats and sheep. They ran up to us to say hello and Cherry and I fed them veggie scraps through the gaps in the fence!
Hold on tight for the bumpy tracker ride!
Cherry’s favourite animal… Rabbits! But she prefers to call them “bats”. They were quite friendly, not shy at all! Especially when Cherry waved a big green lettuce leaf at them! There are also guineapigs which were just adorable and very toddler friendly. Cherry loved giving them a pat and a cuddle!
This is Charlie the Cockatoo and he can talk! “Hello, hello!” But don’t stick your fingers in the cage… He bites!
The donkey came right up to us for a pat on the nose and a tasty treat!
Leni who is five, just loves ponies and could not wait for a ride! She felt just like a princess! (Pony rides are $2)
Inside the chook coop, Cherry chanced the rooster and hens and loved peering into the incubation booth to see the little chicks “cheep, cheep”!
We’d definitely visit again soon!
