Australia’s definitive pop-up restaurant festival, Taste of Sydney, returns to the beautiful surrounds of Centennial Parklands from 13-16th March, this year.
Over four days, visitors will be treated to gastronomic taste sensations from over 15 top dining destinations as well as over a hundred artisan producers and exhibitors offering a range of tasty treats.
It’s a day out for all the family – kids under 6 are FREE and Taste of Sydney is offering Babies & Toddlers readers a special ticket discount.
The Festival is a great way of introducing young children to different tastes as well as educating toddlers about where food comes from, whilst you enjoy some tasty delights (and wine) from Sydney’s best restaurants and producers. Highlights for the kids include:
- The Country Kitchen area with Rebecca Sullivan from Dirty Girl Kitchen: this will be an area where you can find out about how to grow your own veg, relax in a picnic area under the shade of a big tree, learn how to make your own bread and butter, and take part in ‘sustainable living’ workshops. http://www.tasteofsydney.com.au/attraction/country-kitchen/
- Lurpak Cookery School – a brand new hands on feature that will allow guests to create signature dishes using quality produce. (better for parents and kids aged around 10+)
- A ‘relaxation’ picnic area with live music
- Plenty of health focused food exhibitors that are great sources for family meals including The Chia Co, Nudie Juices, Hello Fresh, and Black Forest Farm.
The first of Taste of Sydney’s huge restaurant line-up includes: Chur Burger, who will create a bespoke ‘Taste’ burger especially for the event; Newtown’s nose-to-tail and leaf-to-root advocates Hartsyard; Taste of Sydney favourites Popolo, 4Fourteen and Four in Hand; and Bowral’s Biota Dining and Jonah’s Whale Beach who will return to Taste of Sydney’s ‘Destination Dining’ roster.
In addition to eating and drinking their way through the festival, visitors can take a leaf out of the books of some of Sydney’s top chefs and industry experts, with a series of tasting master classes, cooking schools and chef demonstrations. Festival-goers more inclined to sit back and soak up the atmosphere can check out live bands, entertainment and fun pop-up attractions designed by the likes of Rekorderlig and Dilmah.
The festival is a must on every foodie’s calendar.
